Midfielder Alex Howes joined The Blues from Carlton Town, where he enjoyed a successful 5-year stint, playing over 150 games for the Nottingham-based side.

Alex came through the various youth sides at Notts County from the age of 9, and in 2017, made his breakthrough in the football league, making a total of 5 professional appearances for The Magpies in League 2.

The following season, he was loaned out to Coalville Town, then to Tamworth, before eventually being released by Notts in 2020, after spending over a decade at The Meadow Lane club.

Howes made his Blues debut in our opening game of 2026/27 at Leicester Nirvana in the FA Cup, then scored his first goal for us a few days later against Shepshed Dynamo, and is likely to be a key figure in the heart of our midfield this season.
