Newly-promoted Coventry United are our first visitors to Grange Park for a competitive fixture in 2026/27 when they make the journey on Tuesday evening (kick-off 7.45pm).

Formed in 2013, The Red and Greens have made a good start to their first campaign in Step 4 football.

They kicked off the season with a superb 3-1 at Sutton Coldfield Town in the FA Cup, then have followed that up with a 1-1 draw at home to Grantham Town on their Step 4 debut, before a victory at Belper Town last Saturday - winning 1-0 at one of the promotion favourites.

Long Eaton will be pleased to be back on home soil after playing away from home in our first 3 games of the season, and all in different competitions.

A last-gasp 2-1 FA Cup win at Leicester Nirvana, was followed by a 3-2 league defeat at Shepshed Dynamo, whilst we bowed out of the FA Trophy after going down 2-0 at Boldmere St Michaels, in a game where we missed a host of chances throughout the game.

This will be our first home game since the last day of last season, when we defeated Basford United 2-0.

Tuesday evenings haven't been particularly fruitful for us in recent times, our last midweek victory was in October last year at home to Boldmere St Michaels (3-0), a run which has seen us lose 6 consecutive midweek games since.

Previous Meetings
Despite 'Uniteds' little past record, being only 13 years old - following the takeover of Coventry Spartans, we did both compete together in the Midland Football League Premier Division for 5 seasons from 2016/17 through to the abandoned season of 2020/21. However that last season abandonment due to COVID in 2020/21, we didn't manage to play each other with both games between the 2 sides postponed and not re-played.

Therefore the last time Coventry United visited Grange Park was Saturday 9th November 2019, whilst we did also play the return fixture on Saturday 7th December 2019, before the league was suspended, then eventually abandoned in March 2020.
