We begin our 2026/27 Northern Premier League Midlands Division One campaign with a trip to Shepshed Dynamo on Tuesday evening (7.45pm Kick off).

Whilst we progressed into the next round of the FA Cup, thanks to a last gasp winner from James Taylor at Leicester Nirvana in our first competitive game of the season, Dynamo were 1 of 6 sides to play in the league, and they fought out a goalless draw against Belper Town at The Dovecote Stadium, having received a bye into the Preliminary round of the FA Cup

In 25/26, The Dynamo enjoyed an excellent season - finishing in 7th place and just 2 points adrift of the play-off places, building solidly on their 13th position the season before. And with 11 home league victories throughout the season, only the top 2 enjoyed more home successes throughout 25/26.

Shepshed have lost some of their talent from last season, leading goalscorer Jude Collins, who netted 15 times has joined Racing Club Warwick - now in step 3, whilst influential midfielder Jesse Friend, who scored the equaliser last time the 2 sides met, has earned a dream move into the football league with Notts County, signing professional terms on a 1-year-deal, with an option for a further 12 months.

Dynamo have made a number of additions into their ranks in the build up to the campaign, most notably is centre-forward Taylor Wyse. The 18-year old has joined the club on a season long loan from Tamworth, and made his debut at the weekend.

Former Blue Jack Rogers, who had been with Shepshed Dynamo for the past couple of seasons, also departed The Dovecote stadium in the summer, joining league rivals Belper Town - for whom he came on against at the weekend against Dynamo, along with another former Blue, Tristan Thompson-Matthews.

Long Eaton will be without Jake Finnerty who looks set to be out of action for around a month with a knee problem, whilst young American centre-half Artem Maslenikov is awaiting international clearance - which is expected within the next week.

Past meetings

The last time the 2 sides met, was at Shepshed on 28th March of this year. In a competitive game, with Shepshed still harbouring playoff hopes, The Blues took the lead just past the hour mark with Tristan Thompson-Matthews finishing sweetly, but the home side , through Friend equalise with around 15 minutes left. From here Dynamo had a spell of pressure, but the game finished 1-1.

Ground
The ground is located just off Butthole Lane. It is approximately 15 miles from Long Eaton with around a 30-minute journey time.

Parking around the ground is very restricted. If driving please be courteous where leaving your vehicle, and be prepared to walk a reasonable amount to the ground!
