Popular midfield / forward James Taylor made a welcome return to Grange Park in the summer of 2024, after a short spell away from the club.
Taylor left for a stint at Heanor Town where he scored 10 goals and received a runners-up medal in the Derbyshire Senior Cup after The Lions beat Long Eaton United in the semi-finals to earn a place in the final at Pride Park.
Taylor progressing through the youth sides at the club’s academy and was a part of the senior side that reached the FA Vase quarter-finals in 2020.
Upon his return, he scored a career best 16 goals in 24/25, then followed that up with another 5 last season, whilst operating in a deeper, more central role.
'JT' picked up a host of awards in our end of season celebration last season, and was rewarded with a contract at the club ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.
The attacking midfielder can play anywhere across the front three and also in a deeper box-to-box role, and now has the most appearances for the club amongst our current squad, having amassed over 150 Blues appearances, since making his debut as a 16-year-old in November 2019.
