22-year-old attacking midfielder Liam Loughlan joined on dual-registration from Ilkeston Town in March 2024 and went on to make seven appearances scoring one goal before he made his move permanent in the summer.

A former Salford City player, Loughlan featured eight times for The Ammies, including three appearances in the Football League and one from the bench in extra-time at Wembley Stadium in an EFL Trophy win over Portsmouth.

Following his release from Salford City, Loughlan went on trial with Mansfield Town U21s in September 2023 and subsequently signed for Ilkeston Town the following month where he made ten starts before joining The Blues on loan.
