Long Eaton United vs Darlaston Town
Northern Premier League – Midlands Division
22/03/2025 – 15:00 KO – Family Only Stadium
The Blues return to home this weekend to face Darlaston Town after travelling to Sutton Coldfield last Saturday and continuing the 7-game win streak that we find ourselves on.
The 2-0 win against the Royals last weekend keeps us third in the table and there is now a seven-point gap between ourselves and Sporting Khalsa in sixth.
We welcome Darlaston on Saturday so make sure to come down to the Family Only Stadium and get behind the boys.
How have Darlaston Town been doing?
The Citizens are currently seventh in the table on 54 points which is only six points off of Anstey Nomads who are occupying the final play-off position.
However, Darlaston do have a game in hand on the majority of teams around them.
Seven of their fifteen wins have come away from home with them only losing three away matches all season.
Consistent form seems to have been an issue for Darlaston this season with them showing their quality in parts of the campaign.
Their first win of the season came in the third game week against Hinckley LRFC where Darlaston came out 4-0 winners.
Saturday’s opponents hit form around the end of September when they won five league games in six. A 2-0 loss against Racing Club Warwick on the 9th of October last year was Darlaston’s loss between the 28th of September and 26th of October. Wins in this period came against Loughborough Students, Worcester City, Shepshed Dynamo, Sutton Coldfield Town and Lye Town.
Within a week they snatched all three points against us and held Quorn to a point in December, highlighting the Citizens’ quality.
They head into this fixture in good form only losing one of their last eight.
The reverse fixture:
We travelled to the Paycare Stadium on Saturday 16th November 2024 and were beaten 1-0 by Darlaston Town.
Tyler Bruck’s goal in the fifth minute was the only one of the game.
Brad and his squad will be looking to get revenge this Saturday afternoon.
Current form:
Identical to last week’s preview, the Blues still remain top of the form guide after our seventh win on the bounce.
Another clean sheet against Sutton Coldfield on Saturday means that we have only conceded three goals in our last six seven.
What a time to be a supporter of Long Eaton United!
Darlaston Town are currently in sixth place in the form guide.
Their only loss in their last six came against Boldmere St Michaels at home which ended 2-1.
Apart from this it has been draws against Lye Town and Wellingborough Town and wins against Sutton Coldfield Town, Corby Town and Bedworth United.
With only seven games of the season left, every game is so important to the play-off hunt.
And your support will be unmeasurably helpful. Saturday at Grange Park, there is no better combination.
YOU BLUES!
