Long Eaton United are delighted to announce the permanent signing of former Nottingham Forest & Wycombe Wanderers striker Nathan Tyson.

The 41-year-old centre forward joins from Ilkeston Town, of whom he joined in August this year and scored twice in four appearances for the Robins in the Northern Premier League.

Tyson is a clinical striker that has heaps of experience scoring goals in the EFL Championship, League One and League Two, just to name a few of the leagues that he has featured in.

Starting his career at Reading via their youth academy, before making his debut for the first team in 2000, Tyson went on to make over 175 appearances for Nottingham Forest, over 70 appearances for Doncaster Rovers and over 65 appearances for Wycombe Wanderers.

The Reading-born striker has scored over 130 goals during his career thus far, including two for the England national team at U20s level, and will of course be aiming to add to his tally during his time with the Blues.

Tyson signed for Forest from Wycombe for an estimated fee of £675,000 in January 2006, then nine months later, joint Blues boss Lewis McGugan made his first team debut for Forest and the two went on to spend five years as part of the Reds squad at the City Ground.

Therefore, McGugan will of course know how Tyson can impact a squad and how vital he will be for United throughout the remainder of the 2023/24 season.
