Long Eaton United Football Club are pleased to announce the appointment of Craig Swinscoe and Ben Hutchinson as joint first-team managers, with immediate effect. They will be joined in the dugout by Adam Campbell and Nick Fairbrother as First-team coaches and Simon Dye as goalkeeper coach.
The management duo return to Grange Park, where they were both on the coaching staff during one of the most successful periods in the club’s history. That spell saw the Blues win successive promotions and climb to Step 3 for the first time.
Swinscoe brings a wealth of non-league coaching experience. Before his time at Long Eaton, he was part of the coaching team that led Ilkeston Town to back-to-back promotions in 2017/18 and 2018/19, and he later returned to the New Manor Ground alongside Hutchinson as part of the first-team staff.
Nottingham-born Hutchinson is a familiar face to Blues supporters, having joined the club as a player from Eastwood CFC in 2021 before moving into a first-team coaching role in 2023. Earlier in his career he made more than 100 professional appearances for clubs including Middlesbrough, Celtic, Swindon Town, Lincoln City and Mansfield Town, scoring in the Premier League for Middlesbrough and playing in the UEFA Champions League with Celtic.
The new joint-managers will take charge of their first match this Saturday when The Blues travel to Bedworth United in the Northern Premier League Division One Midlands.
Craig Swinscoe said: “It’s a privilege to be back at Long Eaton. Ben and I know this club inside out: the people, the supporters, and what this place is capable of. We know exactly what we want to build, and we can’t wait to get started. Our aim is simple: to get Grange Park buzzing again and to win football matches week in, week out.”
Ben Hutchinson added: “This club means a lot to me, both as a player and a coach. There’s a good group in the dressing room with a lot of talent. We can’t wait to get started and we’d ask the fans to get down to Grange Park and back the lads.”
Chairman Nick Dargan said:
“Everyone at Long Eaton United would like to give a warm welcome to our new joint managers, Craig Swinscoe and Ben Hutchinson, along with their wider management team.
We’re all excited to see the impact they can have on a talented current squad over the remainder of the season.
Welcome back, lads.”
