We finally return home to Grange Park following 35 days and 5 successive away games since our last home game, when we drew 0-0 with Lichfield City at the end of February.
Whilst during that run, we have only managed 1 victory, there have been positive displays at playoff hopefuls Coleshill Town, Wellingborough Town and most recently Shepshed Dynamo - where we have picked up draws in all 3 of those games.
Sutton Coldfield Town are our visitors on Saturday, and whilst they are 4 positions below us in the table in 16th position, they are also only 2 points behind us.
OPPOSITION
The Royals are managed by Jemiah Richards, who was appointed on 24th October 2025. Richards has previous management and coaching stints at the likes of Sporting Khalsa, Bromsgrove Sporting, Hednesford and Racing Club Warwick at step 3, 4 and 5.
In his 25 league matches in charge to date, Sutton Coldfield have won 9, drew 5 and lost 11.
Away from home, they have 6 wins and 7 defeats from their 18 away games this season.
Incredibly, they have netted 60 goals this season, which only the top 2 sides, Carlton and Anstey can boast more. However, conceding 67 at the wrong end, means they have the unwanted record of conceding the most in the league so far - and that is despite keeping 9 clean sheets, meaning those 67 goals have been conceded across 28 games.
Their change shirt is green with white shorts.
FORM
With 13 wins and 17 defeats this season, Sutton Coldfield Town's form has been just that - Indifferent.
Last Saturday's 2-1 defeat at home to Racing Club Warwick, after taking the lead, was their third loss in their last 5 games, but their away form has been much better overall recently. In their last 5 away games, they have registered 3 wins, at St Neots (3-2), Rugby Town (3-0) and more impressively Belper Town (2-0), a draw at Wellingborough (1-1) and just 1 defeat (at Bourne 1-2).
The Blues haven't looked too low on confidence recently, even with an unwanted record of just 1 win in their last 11 games, and that was at bottom placed Rugby Town. During that sequence, we have picked up 4 draws and lost 6, scoring just 8 goals and conceding 20.
In the calendar year so far, we have registered just 3 wins in all competitions. Our last home victory came back in January against Rushden & Diamonds (3-1), but sadly our form has dropped away from that point, seeing our playoff ambitions disintegrate.
Long Eaton have accumulated 48 points so far this season, 2 more than our opponents on Saturday (46) from 37 games played.
PREVIOUS MEETINGS
In the reverse fixture at the end of September, The Royals came out on top thanks to 2 goals inside the first 30 minutes, which would seal the game. Long Eaton had their moments but we were unable to take them and the game petered out for a 2-0 home win.
Sutton Coldfield's last trip to Grange Park was on 9th November 2024, and 2 goals in 2 second half minutes from Evan Garnett and Liam Loughlan earned The Blues a 2-0 success, a scoreline which was replicated in March 2025 for the return fixture. This time Owen Betts and James Taylor were the hero's for Long Eaton as we completed a 2-0 double.
