Long Eaton United travel to play-off chasing Coleshill Town on Saturday, looking to build on last weeks hard earned draw against Lichfield City, which ended a run of 5 straight defeats.
The Blues moved up a couple of places into 12th position in the league standings, whilst Coleshill currently sit in the last play-off spot in 5th place, though at the time of writing, were scheduled to face Corby Town on Wednesday evening where a victory would take them up above Belper Town into 4th place.
OPPOSITION
The Colts are managed by former Walsall Wood boss Harry Harris and play at Pack Meadow.
Sitting in 5th place, they have won 15 games so far this season, losing 11.
With 9 home wins from 16 so far this term, only the top 2 have won more. However, goals have been in short supply, with just 38 strikes to date, which is the same as bottom placed St Neots Town. Defensively sound, Coleshill have conceded only 34 - the sixth fewest in the league.
Ben Usher-Shipway is their leading goalscorer, with 6 league goals, including 1 penalty strike, having played in every game so far.
FORM
Coleshill have been in steady form since the turn of the year, losing just once in their last eight league games. Picking up 13 points in the process.
A superb 2-1 win at Basford last Saturday, has set them up nicely for a play-off charge, whilst before that they held Wellingborough to a 1-1 draw.
Long Eaton on the other hand are winless in six, and have won just once in the last eight games - that against Rushden & Diamonds at the end of January.
Saturday's goalless draw was our first stalemate of the season and first home clean sheet since a 2-0 win against Coleshill in October last year.
PREVIOUS MEETINGS
In the reverse fixture at the end of October, Evan Garnett struck at the end of each half to secure a 2-0 win for The Blues at Grange Park.
Our last trip to Pack Meadow was early last season in mid-August. Garnett was once again on target, but his brace this time was unable to prevent The Blues slipping to a slender 3-2 defeat. The Colemen completed a league double over Long Eaton in April last year, with a 2-1 win at Grange Park. Thompson-Matthews with our solitary strike.
