Long Eaton United travel to Boldmere St Michaels on Tuesday evening to replay their match which was abandoned on 14th February following an injury to an official who was unable to continue, and no replacement could be found.
Following our second successive draw, we remain in the middle of the table, in 13th position, whilst our hosts Boldmere are just above the drop zone, in 17th position, 4 points ahead of Bourne Town who currently occupy the last relegation place.
OPPOSITION
The Mikes are managed by Ben Roberts, who was appointed temporarily in February last year, before getting the job permanently in the summer.
They play their home games at the Boldmere Community Stadium, also known as The Amber Arena.
Sitting in 17th place, they have won 12 games so far this season, losing 17, accumulating 40 points from 33 games.
Their home record has been very modest so far, with just 4 wins all season and 15 points. However 2 of those wins and 9 of those points have come in their last 5 home league games.
FORM
Boldmere's recent run has been terrific, losing just twice in their last 11 league games - to Basford and run-away leaders Carlton, so are very much an in-form side.
A victory against Shepshed Dynamo last Saturday (1-0), was on the back of another clean sheet and 3 points the week before, with a 2-0 win at Racing Club Warwick. The Mikes have now registered 4 clean sheets in their last 5 games, which is as many as they had managed in the whole season until then.
Long Eaton drew for the second successive game, with a 1-1 draw at Coleshill. Our first back-to-back draws since November last year, which makes it 7 games without a win, however their were signs of improvement with The Blues playing on the front foot for the majority of the game at Pack Meadow.
Our last victory on the road came on 17th January with a 2-0 success at Racing Club Warwick.
PREVIOUS MEETINGS
In the reverse fixture in mid- October, Jahvan Davidson-Miller scored twice in 8 first half minutes to set up a comfortable Blues' win. Leading goalscorer Evan Garnett added a third in the 73rd minute to seal a 3-0 win.
Just a couple of weeks ago, Garnett was on target once again to put Long Eaton in the driving seat before the game was prematurely halted with just a few minutes remaining due to an injury to the referee, Long Eaton were still 1 up at the time.
Our last completed trip to Boldmere was on 8th October 2024, on a rain-sodden evening, Long Eaton ran out 2-1 winners with Connor Pace and James Shaw scoring either side of the home sides equaliser to seal a deserved victory.
