The Blues lost 4-1 to league leaders, Carlton Town, on Tuesday evening.

Northern Premier League Midlands Division – 20/01/2026
Bill Stokeld Stadium, Carlton, Nottinghamshire

Match Report:
Long Eaton United were beaten by four goals to one on Tuesday evening as they travelled to the Bill Stokeld Stadium to face Carlton Town.
Brad Munn’s side headed into last night’s match on a six-game unbeaten streak in the league, but a rampant display from Carlton’s attack meant that it came to an end.
The Millers took a one goal-lead into the half-time break with a goal from Ashley Chambers in the 40th minute.
Carlton then scored three inside of a ten-minute window in the second-half with Lewis Durow heading in their second, and Chambers scoring two in six minutes to complete his hat-trick.
Owen Betts supplied a goal back for The Blues in the 79th minute as he found the bottom right corner however the match finished 4-1 in favour of the hosts.
Long Eaton United return to the Family Only Stadium on Saturday for the first time since Boxing Day as The Blues host Rushden & Diamonds in the league.
Munn made one change to the side that secured three points against Racing Club Warwick on Saturday as Jamie Hanson was brought in from the off with Jahvan Davidson-Miller starting the game on the bench.
Carlton began the game sharply as an early flurry of chances came close. They struck the post with a header in the third minute of play and Lamin Manneh’s cross into the box caused worry for The Blues defence however Jayden Cotterill managed to recover from an initial miskick and clear the ball from the line.
The hosts took the lead in the 40th minute moments after a superb double save by Lewis King.
For Carlton’s opener, King did well to apply pressure to Ashley Chambers who was one-on-one with Long Eaton’s captain, however Chambers finished well into the bottom left corner with Cotterill so close to keeping the ball out.
Carlton were one ahead at the half-time break.
Despite showing promise in the opening minutes of the second-half, Long Eaton found themselves two goals down in the 54th minute.
A corner was delivered into the box from the left and Lewis Durow rose highest to head the ball into the bottom left corner.
Carlton had their third in the 58th minute and Chambers had his second as he found the bottom left corner with a right-footed finish from inside of the box.
The Millers were awarded a penalty in the 64th minute and it was Chambers who stepped up and converted from the spot to cap off his hat-trick.
Long Eaton United got a goal back in the 79th minute. James Taylor did well from outside of the box to hold up the ball and slip in Owen Betts who was darting forward on the overlap. Betts took a touch and drilled the ball into the bottom left corner as it travelled under Felix Annan. A real sharp finish from The Blues right back.
The referee blew his whistle for full-time with the game finishing 4-1 to Carlton Town.
Munn’s side will be looking to bounce back against Rushden & Diamonds on Saturday at the Family Only Stadium.
