Long Eaton United vs Wellingborough Town – 06/11/2025
Northern Premier League – Midlands Division
Family Only Stadium, Long Eaton, Derbyshire
Football is back at the Family Only Stadium on Saturday for Long Eaton’s fourth home game on the bounce as The Blues host Wellingborough Town in the Northern Premier League Midlands Division.
Brad Munn’s side will be looking to get back to winning ways after last Saturday’s 3-2 defeat to Rugby Town.
Long Eaton were down to nine men for the entirety of the second half in that one, and it was only a Caine Elliott deflected strike in the 90th minute which separated the two sides.
It was a spirited performance on Saturday and The Blues can take that feeling forward into the Wellingborough Town fixture.
Due to the two red cards shown to Long Eaton United on Saturday, they will be without defenders Gianluca Bucci and Owen Betts.
There is positive news for the Blues however as Brad Munn expects Connor Pace to be fit and ready for action. Connor has not featured since the injury he picked up against Boldmere St Michaels on the 14th of October.
Long Eaton go into Saturday’s game in 12th place on 21 points whereas Wellingborough Town are 16th on 19 points.
The Doughboys secured their first win since the 20th of September last Saturday as they beat Racing Club Warwick 3-1.
A brace from Will Jones and a goal from Danny Draper meant that Wellingborough were 3-0 up at half-time. Warwick got a consolation goal in the 87th minute with Charles Pye scoring.
Jack O’Connor was shown a red card in the 53rd minute for Wellingborough, therefore he will miss Saturday’s game.
Recent singings Ethan Johnston and Nile Ranger started on the bench for Wellingborough.
Both players signed on the 17th of October, with Johnston joining from AFC Rushden & Diamonds and Nile Ranger was a free agent, his most recent club being Kettering Town.
Brad Munn looks ahead to Wellingborough Town clash:
“Lets just do our best and we will hopefully get everything sorted going into the Wellingborough game.”
“What we are looking to do when we go into that game is to take it to them and obviously get back to winning ways.”
