Long Eaton United vs Rugby Town
Family Only Stadium – Grange Park 3:00pm kick off
Northern Premier League – Midlands Division
For the third game straight, we are at home as this time we face Rugby Town. This fixture was meant to be played away from home with the later game being at home.
We come into this game in fairly good form, having beaten Coleshill Town 2-0 last Saturday thanks to an Evan Garnett brace. Alongside that, we have also won two more games, drawn one and lost one in our last five matches – wins against Bedworth United, Boldmere St Michaels, draw against Bourne Town and the loss to Anstey Nomads.
Rugby Town are unbeaten in their last five matches as they have beaten Coleshill Town, Coventry Sphinx and Loughborough Students all at home, whilst also beating Sutton Coldfield away from home and drawing 2-2 with Basford United at their ground. They have scored 11 goals and only conceded three in those games.
Rugby Town’s danger man so far this season is Caine Elliot. The midfielder has made 19 appearances so far this season for his side and has contributed massively in front of goal. Having scored seven goals and assisted six in all competitions so far creates a cause for concern.
Brad speaking on the next game:
“We just need to go in and win games of football. We’ve just beat a side that won four on the bounce so, now its our aim to go and beat another good side.
“They’ve had a few decent results. I haven’t looked at anything today, but they’re a good side.”
Owen Betts speaking about the game:
(When asked how the boys can take the confidence earned against Coleshill into the game against Rugby) “We’re confident in every game and we trust our style of play, and I think I have said this before in interviews is that we trust our style of play, and we all know how we’re going to play week in week out.
“We try not to change it up too much, so we’re always positive going into every game.”
Who is ready for another game day at home?
