Jahvan Davidson-Miller and Evan Garnett got themselves on the scoresheet to give us all three points at home for the second time within a week.

Alongside the three points, the Blues also kept back-to-back clean sheets with this being the second time we have done so this season – 2-0 vs Mickleover and 3-0 vs Shepshed Dynamo.

This win pushes us up to 14th in the league.

Brad Munn named his side as usual and made a couple of changes including the debut of Elliot Hartmann at left back.

Lewis King, Owen Betts, Jayden Cotterill, and Gianluca Bucci all accompanied the debutant at the back in their usual positions.

Coden Duncan, Cieron Keane and Connor Pace started as the midfield trio.

Davidson-Miller and James Taylor occupied the wings whilst Garnett resumed his usual position as central striker.

James Shaw, Dexter Walters, George Atwal, Aaron Cole, and Tristan Thompson-Matthews all started on the bench.

The Blues started the game with momentum as they dominated the possession early on and pushed the visitors back very well.

King was booked within the first 10 minutes as he was in a shirt tussle with a Boldmere striker.

We were forced into an early sub as Pace was on the receiving end of a very nasty tackle.

Thompson-Matthews replaced Pace in the 14th minute.

We almost took the lead five minutes later. A good team move began with Evan laying the ball off to Tristan, who body fainted his man and laid the ball off to Taylor. Taylor opted for the crossing option and it almost paid off as it was a great ball, but Evan was just short on the receiving end.

Jahvan in the 23rd minute pulled off what is possibly the best goal we may score all season. Hartmann wins the ball in the middle of the pitch. He plays it to Jahvan, who takes it inwards and unleashes a curling strike that rifled the top right corner and bounced in off the crossbar.

King just four minutes later pulled off a good front-post save to keep our lead.

Jahvan doubled his tally for the night with another good goal. Tristan crossed the ball into Jahvan, who brought the ball in well and buried it into the bottom right corner from close range just two minutes after the half-hour mark.

The Blues kept pushing to extent the lead and we almost did as Tristan had a good shot saved at the front post, and Evan almost found the net earlier than he did.

Boldmere started the second half with intent to get back into the game as they pushed hard straight from the off.

Boldmere’s Charlie Manners floored Cotterill seconds into the second half. No card was given.

Jahvan was playing with full confidence as he made a run to the byline and cut the ball back. The ball was struck well, but the goalkeeper made a good save. (57’)

Just a minute later, Cotterill almost gave away a goal, but he made up for it. He misjudged a long ball with O’Callaghan running in behind. Cotterill got back and tackled the striker before he could shoot.

Two minutes after that, Cotterill also made a brilliant block inside our box.

Taylor, Tristan, and Jahvan were all playing so well as they kept linking up all over the pitch and creating chances for one another. The Boldmere defence had no idea to stop them.

In the 72nd minute, we found our third. Keane played a perfect spin pass to Jahvan down the line. Jahvan got a cross into the box and found Evan, who did his trademark spin and shoot finding the bottom left corner.

Betts was booked two minutes later for either a challenge on a Boldmere player, or for his protests to the referee afterwards.

Atwal replaced Duncan, who had played fantastically in the middle of the park, in the 77th minute.

We had two more chances before the full time whistle, but the Boldmere goalkeeper made two good saves to keep the scoreline 3-0.

In the final minutes, Betts was subbed off for Dexter following a bad challenge.

The final whistle went and we had secured all three points at the Family Only Stadium.

Our next match is away from home as we travel to Bourne Town this coming Saturday.
