Racing Club Warwick return home with three points after beating the Blues 4-0 at the Family Only Stadium

Long Eaton United 0-4 Racing Club Warwick
Northern Premier League – Midlands Division
Family Only Stadium, Long Eaton, NG10 2EF

Long Eaton United lost by four goals to nil as we hosted Racing Club Warwick on Saturday afternoon.

The Blues returned to Grange Park after playing four straight away league games.

Brad Munn’s side were looking to get back to winning ways after losing on the road to AFC Rushden & Diamonds and then Sutton Coldfield Town last Tuesday night.

All of Racing Club Warwick’s goals were scored in the second half.

James Harding scored their first as they made a fast start to the second half with Archie Hamp netting their second and his first in the 54th minute.

Hamp had his second of the afternoon in the 59th minute and Tyrell Skeen-Hamilton capped things off with a finish in the 81st.

Munn made four changes to the squad partly due to injuries and suspensions with Kian Morrison, George Atwal, Aaron Cole and James Shaw coming into the starting XI in place of Cieron Keane, Coden Duncan, James Hanson and Dexter Walters.

Storm Amy was in town and was giving the players some trouble, particularly the goalkeepers.

The first chance of the game for the Blues fell to debutant, Kian Morrison. He cut inside onto his right foot and his curled cross looked to cause Sam Lomax some trouble in the Racing Club Warwick net as the ball came back off the bar. Lomax claimed the ball after that however.

The second half was made up of a large number of half chances for both sides with Morrison’s effort early on being the best for the Blues.

The visitors made a fast start to the second half and scored their first in the 47th minute. Lewis King made a great initial save to deny James Harding however the rebound fell to The Racers striker and he tapped into an empty net.

Racing Club Warwick doubled their lead in the 55th minute. James Hancocks won the ball high up for Warwick and proceeded to play an inviting ball to the back post where Archie Hamp made the run and finished past King.

They scored their third in the 59th minute and Hamp had his second. A long ball was played over the top and Hamp got to the ball first which allowed him to head the ball over King and into the back of the net.

Substitute, Tyrell Skeen-Hamilton, had Racing Club Warwick’s fourth in the 82nd minute. William Bapaga slipped Skeen-Hamilton through on goal and with his left foot the striker hit a low shot which ended up in the bottom right corner.

The Blues came close to scoring a consolation in stoppage time when Tristan Thompson-Matthews hit the post with his deflected effort however the game finished four nil to Racing Club Warwick.

It is a quick turnaround which will please players and staff as we travel to face Loughborough Students on Tuesday night.

Let’s get back to winning ways.

COME ON YOU BLUES!
