Sutton Coldfield Town vs Long Eaton United – 30/10/2025
Northern Premier League – Midlands Division
Central Ground, Coles Lane, Sutton Coldfield, B72 1NL

The Blues suffered a 2-0 loss away at Sutton Coldfield Town last night.

First-half goals from Kyle Bryne and James McGrady were enough for the Royals to secure all three points.

There were two changes from Saturday’s side that started against AFC Rushden & Diamonds with Jamie Hanson and Dexter Walters coming in to replace Jake Finnerty and Jahvan Davidson-Miller.

The Blues made a fast start with Evan Garnett and Walters having early chances however it was Sutton Coldfield Town who took the lead in the 9th minute. It was Kyle Bryne who got a bit fortunate with his finish, however the ball did eventually find the bottom right corner.

We were forced into an early substitution as Jamie Hanson had to be by replaced by George Atwal in the 19th minute.

The home side had their second in the 29th minute. Kory Burke received the ball in the middle of the pitch before playing through James McGrady who finished into the bottom right corner.

Dexter was causing Sutton Coldfield defenders real issues down the left wing throughout the first-half however unfortunately failed to find the back of the net with the final product.

We were two down at half-time.

Garnett had our first chance of the second half but it was a tricky one. The ball dropped to Garnett in the box and he had to somewhat pull off an acrobatic effort on the turn. Wren saved the effort smartly as he got down low.

Garnett probably had our best chance of the game to pull a goal back in the 81st minute as he shot from the right side of the box but he had to watch his effort hit the right post.

The last ten minutes seen us dominate with Connor Pace having a shot saved well and Jahvan Davidson-Miller heading over the bar however we failed to get a goal.

The referee signified the end of the game and it was a 2-0 defeat on the road.

The Blues are back in action on Saturday as we host Racing Club Warwick.
