Mickleover FC vs Long Eaton United – 12/08/2025 – Don Amott Arena
Northern Premier League Midlands Division
The first away day of the season is here as we travel across Derbyshire to face Mickleover FC on Tuesday night.
As we make the half-hour journey to the Don Amott Arena all associated with Long Eaton United will be hoping that the Blues can get their points tally for the season up and running.
We lost on the opening Saturday of the season to Corby Town however all focus now switches to Tuesday night.
Mickleover FC are also looking for their first points as they suffered a 2-0 loss to Coventry Sphinx in their league opener.
Despite the loss at the weekend, Brad mentioned that there were positives to take out of the Corby game and that confidence is high heading into the second league match.
The Blues can expect to be playing against a fired up Mickleover FC side tomorrow night as manager, Gareth Holmes, was not please about his sides performance at the weekend.
Holmes said that his side ‘off the football and on the ball were nowhere near good enough’ against Coventry Sphinx. Additionally, he made it clear that he ‘expects a response on Tuesday’.
The Sports won two out of five pre-season matches with the wins coming against Burton Albion U21’s and Belper United.
They lost 4-3 to Stoke City U21’s, 4-1 to Barnsley U21’s and 2-0 to Leek Town.
Brad looks ahead to Tuesday night:
“It’s another game where potentially one of their management staff has underestimated us”.
“But we are going to go into that game, like I say, always full of confidence but with full respect for every team that we play.”
“It’ll be nice to play a new face in the league as opposed to last year and we’ll be certainly looking at each way possible to go strong into that game.”
Your away support will be massive as we look to take all three points from this Derbyshire derby.
An away day on a Tuesday, who says no?
COME ON YOU BLUES!
