Long Eaton United vs Shepshed Dynamo
Northern Premier League – Midlands Division
01/03/2025 – 3pm KO

After a convincing 5-0 victory over play-off rivals Anstey Nomads last weekend the blues return to the Family Only Stadium at Grange Park as Brad Munn’s side welcome Shepshed Dynamo.
As we enter the back-end of the 2024/25 campaign, the race for the play-offs has never looked so dense.
Long Eaton currently sit in 3rd position in the table, however Corby Town (2nd), Worcester City (4th) and Anstey Nomads (6th) all have games in hand.
At the minute though there is no team that can get in the way of our Blues!

How are Shepshed Dynamo doing?
The Dynamo currently sit in 16th position. They have played 29 league games and have earned 34 points from those.
They were on the end of a 6-1 thrashing by Anstey Nomads earlier this season, this taking place in the Isuzu FA Trophy First Qualifying Round.
Shepshed came close to earning a point against second placed Corby Town away from home on Saturday the 2nd of November. The score finished 3-2 in favour of Corby, with goals from Tristan Dunkley and Chad Timson close to inspiring a comeback for the Dynamo.
Between the 16th of November and the 30th, Shepshed went on a three-game winning streak, scoring nine goals in these three. A 4-1 win against Sutton Coldfield Town, a 2-1 win against Racing Club Warwick and winning 3-1 versus Sporting Khalsa had the potential to put Shepshed into gear going into the second half of the season. All three of these wins were away from home, therefore Saturday’s fixture will be no push over.
The Dynamo came out winners in an entertaining 90 minutes of action against Loughborough Students on the 1st of February this year. A brace from Louis Samuels and a 77th minute finish from Tristan Dunkley wrapped up the win. Jordan Fankwe was shown a red card late on in this fixture for Shepshed.
They shocked Worcester City a fortnight ago, beating the play-off contenders 1-0 at home.

The reverse fixture:
Long Eaton travelled to the Dovecote Stadium on Saturday the 26th of October to face Shepshed Dynamo.
The Blues came out 3-0 winners.
Connor Pace opened the scoring in the 15th minute, James Taylor netted in the 37th minute and Owen Betts sealed the three points for Long Eaton with a goal in the 45th minute.
We will be hoping for more of the same come Saturday afternoon.

Current Form:
The Blues are second in the form guide at the moment, Quorn are top with one point more (16) in their last six league games.
The 5-0 win last week at Anstey, meant that we have won our each of our last five matches in the league.
Apart from Anstey Nomads wins have also come against Bedworth United, Corby Town, Loughborough Students and Boldmere St Michaels. Your Blues have scored 20 goals in those five wins, and only conceded three, keeping three clean sheets.
The Blues will go for six wins on the bounce this Saturday and make the form guide looking a bit like: WWWWWW.
Similar to their league position, The Dynamo are 15th in the form guide, gaining seven points from their last six games.
Shepshed have two wins in their previous six. These were a 3-2 win over Loughborough Students and the Worcester City shock.
They have lost three against Corby Town, Coleshill Town and Anstey Nomads and earned a point against Darlaston Town.
Shepshed may be unpredictable if their form is anything to go off of, however we will have to be at the races on Saturday to get the win.

The gaffer speaks ahead of Shepshed Dynamo:
“Winning is everything…three points are all that matters. We have another chance to do the double on a team, so that is all the well, that’s all we need to go to actually give us a bit of spite and we just don’t want to lose games of football now. We feel that every game is our last, so we need to make sure we go into every game that way and make sure were given a great account of ourselves.”

Liam Loughlan speaks about the importance of Saturday’s home game:
“We’re in a really good place, all the lads back each other, really good energy throughout the whole team, the staff, and were confident going into every single game, that were going to win.”
