Long Eaton United vs Hinckley LRFC
Northern Premier League – Midlands Division
01/01/2025 – 3pm KO
The first day of 2025 comes with the first game of 2025 for Long Eaton United.
The Blues host Hinckley LRFC at the Family Only Stadium at Grange Park.
Long Eaton are as of now fifth in the league table on 38 points. Anstey Nomads sit three points behind however have three games in hand. Darlaston Town also are on 35 points in seventh place with two games in hand. Every result matters now for the Blues.
Hinckley LRFC currently sit 17th in the league table and are six points from safety.
Current form:
Brad Munn’s side have only lost one league fixture in their previous six. The loss coming against Loughborough Students on the 10th of December, the game finished 2-1.
The Blues go into this fixture against Hinckley LRFC unbeaten in four.
A 1-1 draw to Lye Town on the 14th of December and another at home to Sporting Khalsa on the 17th brough to an end a frustrating period for Long Eaton.
Since then, the Blues have beaten Wellingborough Town by four goals to two and most recently travelled to Grantham Town where Long Eaton came out victors, thrashing the hosts 5-1.
Long Eaton striker, Evan Garnett, has five goals in his past two games. Can he continue his impressive goalscoring form on New Year’s Day?
Hinckley are on a pretty impressive run of form themselves, winning four of their previous six league fixtures.
Their most recent loss was their last game on Boxing Day against Anstey Nomads, with the Knitters losing that encounter 1-0.
Prior to this, on the 21st of December, Hinckley defeated second place Corby Town by three goals to nil and again before that won against Coleshill Town 1-0.
As it stands in the form guide, which takes into consideration every sides last six games, Hinckley LRFC sit sixth with 12 points and the Blues are eight with 11 points.
This should be a cracker.
What better way to start the new year than to spend it at the Family Only Stadium at Grange Park to cheer on the boys.
We hope to see as many of you as possible on New Year’s Day.
We also wish everyone the very best of wishes going into 2025.
You Blues!
