Long Eaton United travel to the Victoria Ground on Saturday where they will face Bromsgrove Sporting in the Pitching In Southern League Premier Central.

The Blues picked up a point at home to Barwell on New Year's Day despite going down to ten men through injury. A late equaliser from George Atwal earning the point for United.

Our hosts for Saturday also began the New Year sharing the points in their visit to the New Bucks Head in a goalless draw against fifth place Telford.

Looking ahead to Saturday's match, first-team manager Brad Munn reflected on the previous encounter with Bromsgrove Sporting. "We didn't deserve to lose that game here earlier in the season," Munn said: "but again we have to look at the squad, look after everything. Let's go and put a positive performance in and see what we can get from the coming games."

After a being reduced to ten-men through injury on New Year's Day, Munn assessed the squad's fitness. "We take each game as it comes now, rather than looking at a block. [It's] best to take each game in isolation, we can't do blocks when we're looking at a small squad and the injuries within it as well.

"So, lets focus on Bromsgrove, lets have a real good go at setting up to be as positive as we can against them and lets try and get as many results as we can come now and the end of the season.

The Opposition:

While The Blues have a chance to earn back-to-back points for the first time this season, Bromsgrove Sporting will aim to move further clear of the drop zone at the weekend. Sporting currently sit one place above the bottom four but are level on points with AFC Sudbury, St Ives Town and Stourbridge.

Four of Sporting's last six games have ended level, a trend of results which has led to their 18th place position in the league - the club's lowest standing in the table this season.
