Long Eaton United are delighted to announce the signing of centre half Tyreece Robinson.

Ian Deakin's second signing of the summer joins with experience of playing in the Northern Premier League East Division with Frickley Athletic last season.

The Former Derby County trainee Robinson has also represented many local clubs, including Mickleover, Ilkeston Town and Loughborough Dynamo.

With pre-season just around the corner, Robinson said: “I know a couple of the lads already, but I am looking forward to seeing them again and getting started.”

Discussing the move to Grange Park, the 22-year-old defender spoke about his friendship with former Blues’ winger Micah Jebbison. “I am good friends with Jeb [Micah Jebbison], he got in touch and asked what I was doing this season and he said that Long Eaton United is a good club with good people.”

The tall and athletic defender can play anywhere across the backline, considering his style of play, Robinson said: “I would say I am quick and making recovery runs from attacking positions is one of my strengths.”

Robinson played alongside our first summer signing Rod Orlando-Young at Frickley Athletic last season – commenting on his teammate, Robinson added: “[He has] Flair, the fans will love to see him play, he is an exciting player, and he has goals in him as well.”

Reflecting on his experience in the NPL East Division last season, Robinson commented on the long away days. “They are all part of it to be fair, I played against a few of the teams last season with Frickley, so I know what those clubs are about.”

Looking ahead to this season, Robinson established his aims as a player. He said: “On a personal note I just want to get as many games under my belt as possible and results-wise keep clean sheets.”

You can see Robinson in action in the coming weeks as Long Eaton United’s pre-season schedule begins on Saturday 2nd of July, with an away visit to Gedling Miners Welfare – kick-off for this fixture has moved to 2pm.
