JT REWARDED WITH DEAL FOR 26/27

We are delighted to announce that James Taylor has signed a contract ahead of the 2026/27 season.

'JT' was an ever-present in our side last term - the only player to represent us in each of our 47 league and cup games, and took home a host of awards at our recent end-of-season presentation evening.

Taylor progressed through our junior and academy setup, and made his first team debut back in November 2019 at just 16 years-old, and has since clocked up a total of 165 first team appearances, scoring 29 goals. He spent 1 season at Heanor Town in 23/24, but Brad Munn made a swift move to bring him back home in July 2024.

Munn had this to say regarding the deal; "I think this signing is one that says a few things. It shows that hard work, dedication to your craft & ability does get its rewards. It also shows that loyalty doesn’t get taken for granted at our football club and JT deserves this and has earned everything he gets at this place.

He came through the door 2 years ago wanting the opportunity to play and prove himself at step 4 and he’s gone over and above that and became a constant figure in our side and also a top performer.

He is only going to go from strength to strength each season and I’m so pleased that he wants to commit his future to the football club.

Well done to JT and probably one of the most deserved deals to have been given in football.”

James Taylor also reacted, commenting: This is a really proud moment for me, signing a contract with a club I’ve been part of since youth level. Coming through the different age groups and captaining the side in the FA Youth Cup, I’ve seen first hand how much this club has progressed both on and off the pitch.

I know how special this club is to be a part of, and nothing would mean more to me this season than helping get this club back to a level it deserves to be at."

Well done JT from everyone associated with Long Eaton United FC on a truly well earned reward! #YouBlues
