The Blues can confirm that 18 players have been retained going into pre-season, as all the behind the scenes work continues to push through in preparation for the clubs’ first season playing step-three football.

Departing the club is Jamie Walker, having signed for the Blues in May 2020, the clinical forward scored 52 competitive goals and registered 42 assists for Ian Deakin’s side in 103 appearances – he has been a vital part of the Blues squad since signing, thus we know he will fly in the National League North as he joins fellow Derbyshire-side Alfreton Town.

Furthermore, since signing at the start of the 2022/23 season, Rod Orlando-Young played a huge part in the early stages of the Emirates FA Cup – the magical winger scored 5 goals in 9 appearances – but unfortunately, Rod picked up a knee injury that kept him out the squad for over 75% of the season, and due to relocating back to London, the winger will be departing the club, and we would like to wish Rod the best of luck back in the capital.

As announced previously, Ben Hutchinson will be hanging up his boots after 20+ years competing in the sport and he will be joining Deakin, Craig Swinscoe and Adam Campbell in the dugout ahead of an exciting season in the Pitching In Southern League Premier Central.

We would also like to thank Curtis Davies and Ashaiah Fearon who joined the Blues on loan towards the end of the 2022/23 season as they both return to their parent clubs Mansfield Town and Notts County – both played a vital part in the clubs’ promotion to step three, and we would like to wish them all the best in there pursuit of professional football.
