Long Eaton United back ‘Play Safe’ during Saturday’s match against Dunston to raise awareness of the importance of safeguarding in football.

Whilst the Blues host Dunston UTS in the Northern Premier League East Division at Grange Park this weekend, it is also a weekend where the whole of football at every level will join forces to promote the FA-led campaign Play Safe.

Football’s national campaign to focus attention on the vital importance of safeguarding in our national game.

It is the second Play Safe weekend, Saturday 1st October and Sunday 2nd October, the first of which launched the ongoing campaign in November 2021.

The campaign is officially supported by the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC) as well as the Premier League, EFL, Barclays Women’s Super League and Barclays Women’s Championship.

Play Safe is also being backed by every other level of the game across England, with this year’s focus being on the key role of parents/carers in safeguarding, with two main messages being conveyed:

- Are you aware of the vital safeguarding role you play in football?
- Please take the new, short and free safeguarding course specifically developed for parents/carers, which can be accessed below.

Parents and carers are being encouraged to complete the new and free online safeguarding course specifically developed for them, which can be accessed here.
