Owen Betts has been retained ahead of the 2024/25 season.

The 23-year-old joined Long Eaton United back in February and made 12 appearances for The Blues last season, scoring a goal away to Stratford Town in the league.

Providing an update to his retained list, first-team manager Brad Munn said: "[We are] delighted to keep Bettsy on board with us for the new season.

"He came in and did fantastically after long lay-offs with injury. He knows this season is a big season for him personally to get back to his previous levels, keep the body fit and healthy for a season.

"Also, to be somewhere that wants to be competitive but, most importantly, somewhere he can enjoy his football. I feel it’s that environment for him and he will be challenged everyday to keep progressing and show the ability consistently week on week."

Munn added: "He’s a well liked character and it’s something that I want to build the dressing room on, he fits the mould and his ability to play in a number of positions is key.

"I’m looking forward to seeing the full scope of his ability and the club is too!

"We are pleased to welcome back Bettsy and are looking forward to the new campaign."
