New Community Football Officer announced – Ashley Wormall

The Club is delighted to announce that Ashley Wormall has been appointed as the Club's new Community Football Officer.

Ashley will be responsible for managing the clubs sporting facilities including the new state of the art, full size, floodlit 3G astro facility which is due to open in the first week of November. In addition he will oversee the clubs full-time academy along with academy manager Paul Holland as well as developing deeper and wider links with the local community.

Director & Charity Trustee Nick Dargan said “We are delighted to secure Ashley’s services at such an exciting time for the club. He has the perfect combination of commercial and coaching skills to help the club achieve its ambitious football development plan"

Ashley was born in Nottingham playing local football at Hucknall Town and Carlton Town before moving over to the United States to play on a football scholarship. Upon completion of his scholarship, graduating with a Business Degree, he moved to Australia for a brief playing stint before moving back to the United States to take over as the head of the Chicago Fires Emerging Talent Program.

During the past 5 years, he has worked for Borussia Dortmund's international academy as head of recruitment and director of goalkeeping, as well as being the club director at Michigan Thunder and Absolute Soccer. Ashley also holds coaching licenses from the FA, United States Soccer Federation, PFSA and United Soccer Coaches Association
