Long Eaton United manager Ian Robinson shares his frustration after the 2-3 defeat to Shawbury United

Frustration is the first word that comes to mind.

We had a bare squad today. We probably only had ten first team players available because of injuries and suspensions so it was a bit difficult but everyone’s back for next week.

However, we were still looking at the game thinking it should have been a good result for us.

I thought the first half we played some good football and created quite a few chances and probably should have got another goal in front.

But they were decent and they popped the ball around quite nicely and worked harder for the ball than we did and at the end of the game we’d have taken a draw.

Our work rate was off second half. The quality on the ball was not up to scratch. We didn’t hold the ball up front enough and the second half performance was poor, which it hasn't been for a long time.

It was disappointing to see but we did have suspensions and injuries to key players but still we still felt we had plenty in that dressing room to get something out of the game.

We had to change the goalkeeper because Scott Low is off to Belper so we’ve brought in Matt Coton from Coaville Town.

That was Matt's first game and he’s done alright; he’s made some good saves. It’s hard to judge him to be fair because the team itself didn’t play well but what he had to do he did well.

The last goal was quite clearly a lad not marking the man he should be marking. He’s held his hands up but it’s not good enough. You need to do a job. In the second half we didn’t do enough.

We’ve got some key players coming back for the game against Heanor. There are four or five that would be in the first team squad or first 11 that would give us strength.

From our point of view we have options now and fortunately some of the guys have made it a little bit easier for them not staying in the team because of the result.

It'll be a tough game at home against Heanor but we want to get back into winning ways.
