The squad was a bit bare bones today for some reason, whether it's because it's a bank holiday or not. We got here this morning and a few faces weren't here so we've had to move the squad about a bit but they were all up for it. I dropped Romaine in at the back, Kameron at right back, Keano's been moved about too and I've played myself again and we've done alright.
Like I've said before I've been here that long that if I hadn't have come back and the club did go down I would have never forgiven myself so me and Barbs said we'd do this.
He's been brilliant on the side the last couple of games, he's made the right decisions when he's needed to and I trust him with everything that he's doing. He's also taking the warm-ups so I can concentrate on playing. It's worked well. I think the lads appreciate the time and effort we've put into it. I'm flogging myself on the pitch for them and you get a bit of a reaction from them too. Luckily I've got a goal and two assists so I've had a good weekend all-round.
Mainly we're safe, and that was the main objective when we've come back.
I've got to give a shout out to Jermaine Hollis. He was meant to be in London all weekend. I gave him a phone call midweek and said 'Look, I need you for the weekend,' He was meant to be out but he's delayed going to London on Saturday, come back early and he's been brilliant.
We'll enjoy a nice training session Thursday and go into Saturday to try and get some more points and finish strong.
I think everybody's playing for a place because we've not had as good a season as we should have done. So I still think if the players want to be part of Long Eaton United and part of where it's going they still have something to prove.
