Long Eaton United is delighted to welcome Stewart Thorpe to the club, who is stepping in to take over the role as news and media manager.

Long Eaton United is delighted to welcome Stewart Thorpe to the club, who is stepping in to take over the role as news and media manager.

The 23-year-old currently works for the Nottingham Post as a trainee digital reporter and previously ran the Long Eaton Website Extra’s website in 2013.
In his new role Stewart will manage the club’s social media channels and liaise with Jon Faulkner to help produce matchday programmes.
Chairman Jim Fairley said he was pleased with the appointment, which fits into the club’s long-term vision.
He added: “It’s great to welcome Stewart to the club.
“He’s passionate about football and brings great experience and enthusiasm to the role.
“Long Eaton United has an exciting future ahead of it and Stewart was the ideal candidate for helping to promote the club.”

Stewart was born and bred in Long Eaton, supports Derby County and is a keen runner.

He begins his role as news and media manager with immediate effect.
