Long Eaton United can also announce terms have been agreed to keep Lewis King between the sticks for the 2025/26 Season.
Kingy has been a tremendous leader for us this past season, on and off the pitch, and It's no secret his qualities played a vital part in our successful 24/25 campaign. A superb keeper, with near perfect distribution would be a good way to describe Lewis whilst he's on the pitch. An, impossible not to like, true gent would be a good way to describe him off of it.
That's why we can also announce Kingy will be our Club Captain for the upcoming Season.
Brad Munn said,
"I think it was a no brainer with the changes that Kingy now takes the role of club captain.
His passion for the game, will to win & leadership make him a perfect skipper moving forward.
Im usually not the biggest for a goalkeeper captain however his quality with a football is second to none and understanding of the game as a whole gets instant respect from each and every player, which again is another reason along with him being one of the most genuine and trustworthy people i've ever met through the game.
Im sure he will help progress the team once again on and off the pitch.
Here’s to the new season skip"
Lewis King added,
"Im honoured to be given the captaincy at the club. I loved my first season here and want to build on what we achieved last season.
The gaffer has a squad here with a fantastic togetherness and work ethic and I can’t wait to lead them out next season.
It’s going to be a tough but exciting league and we will be ready to compete and go one better than last season."
Chairman Nick Dargan commented,
"Lewis committing to the club is big. He's a leader not only on a matchday but everyday. You need him on the pitch, but also in the changing room, and at training setting the standards day in day out.
Knowing he'll be between the sticks next season should be a huge confidence boost to players & fans alike."
