Who remembers this former skipper?

Former midfielder Michael Armstrong became Long Eaton United's youngest ever captain when he was handed the armband for their game against Parkgate FC on February 18, 2012.

The 17-year-old was part of a young United side and made captain by manager Mick Galloway following the departure of a number of senior players.

The team on that day were made up of a number of club juniors and were also recorded as United's youngest ever starting line-up.

The Northern Counties East Football League game ended 0-0 with 71 in attendance.

The team (including appearances at the time) were: Scott Webb (8), Andy Rhodes (1), Kial Thurman (1), Isaac Marshall (17), Michael Armstrong (38), Jimmy Hunter (15), Jacob Webster (17), Blaine Hancock (3), Will Mellors-Blair (26), Josh Hooley (14) and Matt Weightman (17).

Armstrong now plays under former United manager Charlie Palmer at Belper Town.
