The match is due to take place on Saturday 2nd October 2021 at the Arden Garages Stadium, Stratford upon Avon.
Long Eaton United reached the Third Qualifying Round with a 3-1 away win over Northern Premier League Midlands Division side Bedworth United.
Jamie Walker scored the opener with a fantastic free-kick and Kameron Campbell doubled the Blues' lead in the build-up to the break. Midway through the second half, Connor Deards found the back of the net to reduce the lead. However, with the last kick of the game, Jamie Walker bagged his brace to wrap up the match.
Meanwhile, Stratford Town overcame Nuneaton Borough 4-0 at the Arden Garages Stadium to progress into this round. Will Grocott gave Stratford an early lead in the 15th minute, and an Ash Sammons strike doubled the hosts’ lead in the first half. The final 45 minutes saw more of the same, as Ahmed Obeng netted the third just beyond the hour mark, and Grocott secured his brace in the dying moments of the match.
Both sides head into this match in fine form, as Long Eaton enter with a six-game unbeaten run in the league, as well as victories over four different opponents to reach the Third Qualifying Round – three of which were sides from the step above.
However, the step three side currently sit sixth in their league, having registered four victories and two defeats so far this season, and have had to overcome Northern Premier League Midlands Division side Carlton Town and their league counterparts Nuneaton Borough to reach this round.
The Blues and the Bards have never met in a cup competition before, and this very well could be the first-ever meeting between the two sides in the clubs 65-year history.
Ian Deakin’s side now have a two-week fixtureless break before they travel to Stratford upon Avon, so this will allow the squad to recuperate and train ahead of what is going to be a very tough Emirates FA Cup Third Round Qualifying tie.
