The midfielder makes his return to Grange Park after a season with United Counties League side Heanor Town, where he made 42 appearances and scored five goals.

Commenting on the new arrival, first-team manager Brad Munn said: "I’m sure many faces around the club are as happy as we are to have Danny back at the club.

"Danny, for me, is one of those players that goes about his work in silence and you don’t realise the impact until it’s not there. He’s a clean operator, professional yet with the desire to want to be the best he possibly can. He adds to a strong group but also brings a level headed balance to how we want to operate."

Munn added: "Things are really starting to take shape and the vision I have for the new season is shared with Danny so it made complete sense to bring him in after attempting to work with him a number of years back now.

"Welcome back to the club."

Gordon first signed for The Blues four years ago in the summer of 2020 and went on to play 91 matches for the club across three seasons.

Achieving back-to-back promotions during his time with United, Gordon won the United Counties League Premier Division North title in his first full season and the Northern Premier League East Division playoffs in the following year.

A fan favourite, Gordon was presented with the 'supporters player of the season' and the 'player's player of the season' awards for his efforts in the 2021/22 title-winning campaign.
