We are delighted to confirm the signing of midfielder Alex Howes, formerly of Carlton Town, as we continue to shape our squad ahead of the forthcoming season.

26-year-old Howes, began his career at Notts County, progressing through their youth ranks from the age of 9. He made a breakthrough at Meadow Lane late in the 2016/17 League 2 campaign, making a total of 5 football league appearances for the Magpies under the stewardship of Kevin Nolan. Following loan spells at Coalville Town and Tamworth, Alex signed for Basford United in 2020 after the conclusion of his contract at Notts.

Howes then moved to Carlton, initially on loan in November 2021 before making the deal permanent in March 2022. He then went on to clock up more than 150 appearances for The Millers over 5 seasons. He also has an eye for a goal, often spectacular, notching 18 goals during his spell at Carlton.

We are thrilled Alex will be plying his trade at Grange Park this coming season.
