BLUES APPOINT NEW PHYSIO

Rob McNeil4 Jul 2023 - 11:54

Long Eaton United are delighted to announce the appointment of Ryan Perkins as the clubs’ new first team Physiotherapist/Sports Therapist

Perkins joins Ian Deakin’s back room staff with a vast amount of experience and qualifications from working within the industry.

The Blues’ newest recruit previously worked as a Personal Trainer for Everyone Active and as the Lead Sports Therapist at Rainworth Miners Welfare Football Club.

On top of that, Perkins has gained his knowledge and expertise working as a Sports Physical Therapist for GB Wheelchair Rugby, a Sports Therapist & Player Care Lead at Mansfield Town Academy & U18 Education Programme, and also as a Level 4 Sports Massage Therapist working for himself.

Speaking on his arrival, Perkins said: “Firstly, I would really like to thank Charlotte [Kirkpatrick] and Deaks [Ian Deakin] for giving me the opportunity to work along side Long Eaton for the upcoming, of course, important season.

“I am really excited to start working with the club and getting to know the lads, I have heard good things in regards to the club, so bring on the new season!”

Long Eaton’s new Physiotherapist also holds a Foundation Degree from the University of Derby in Sports & Exercise Science (Injury Management), as well as a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) Degree in Sports & Exercise Science from Nottingham Trent University.

Those accolades along with a number of various Licenses & Certificates in Emergency First Aid, Acupuncture and Trauma/Concussion Management received from the FA, Sports Massage Academy, RockTape and OMT Training Italy outline Perkins’ capabilities when it comes to managing player injuries.

Thus, we can now aim to keep as many long term injuries as possible at a minimum as we look to challenge in our inaugural season at step three of the English Football Pyramid.
