Long Eaton United A (1) v Lowdham Colts (1) - 06/02/2010

After a great result last week away at Manor 4th, Long Eaton took on another tough opponent in Lowdham Colts.

Finlay played in goal behind Matty, Tomas and Jack with the midfield of Zak and Oscar supporting Benedict. Jarrett came on early in the first half and both Lily and Jared came on in the second half.

Lowdham pressed hard in the first half and the home side came under some real pressure but managed to hold out until a deflected shot gave Finlay little chance - 1-0 down at half time.

The second half was a different proposition with Long Eaton playing some excellent football, bringing the ball down and passing well which resulted in Lowdham now being on the back foot and a number of chances being created by the home side.

However, with time slipping away it looked like Long Eaton's efforts would go unrewarded. But, with 2 minutes left, the home side surged forward one last time, winning a free kick on the edge of the penalty area.

Up stepped Oscar to fire an unstoppable free kick into the roof of the net giving the Lowdham goal-keeper no chance and securing a well deserved point and leaving Long Eaton unbeaten in 2010 !!
