Carlton Town Blue (2) v Long Eaton United (1) - 21/11/09

The U9's travelled to Carlton Town with high hopes in the first round of the Senior Cup.

The U9's turned in a spirited performance against Carlton Town Blue in the first round of the Senior Cup. Despite being behind 1-0 at half time, the away side had a number of chances to draw level and played with great spirit.

Carlton scored again at the start of the second half but the U9's continued to press forward gaining their reward with 10 minutes to go, when Jack, who had started the match in goal, finished superbly to set up a frenetic finish.

A free kick from Zak and a last gasp effort from Oscar brought Long Eaton so close to extra time but Carlton held on for the win.

Despite the defeat, Jarrett, Matty, Lily, Oscar, Jack, Zak and Benedict were cheered off the pitch having put up a fantastic fight.

Well done - lets set the record straight when we play Carlton again this saturday in the League !!
