Newton Receives FA Award

Long Eaton United Ladies striker Cara Newton was among the best of the best last night at the FA Women's Premier League Awards Night,

Newton was recognized for her prolific goal scoring last season as the Blues striker bagged a total of 38 goals in 25 games which made her the leagues top goal soccer.

Cara took to Twitter soon after the awards nights and had this to say on her award "Probably my proudest moment in football "

Cara was accompanied to the event by last seasons First Team Head Coach Charlotte Healy, current First Team Head Coach Will Brown and long term partner Stuart Harrison who is a proud sponsor of the club.

Will had this to say on Cara's achievement " It's an honor for us as club to be coaching a player of Cara's ability, She's the kind of player any club would want, Cara is a major piece to the puzzle here at Long Eaton United, And we hope she can continue her goal scoring form this season"

The Blues next game is double header at Grange Park, As fans will get the chance to see not only the first team but also the reserve team in action this weekend!

The first kick off will take place at 1pm and all fans are welcome to the double header free of charge!!
