After a goalless first-half Terell Pennant fired the hosts in front with ten minutes left to play. However, second-half substitute Nathan Tyson scored his first goal in a Long Eaton shirt to equalise in stoppage time as The Blues recorded consecutive points for the first time this season.
Brad Munn made two changes to the starting lineup, Callum Cocks returned to the defence at right-back and Casey Johnson started in midfield.
The hosts forged a great chance in the opening minute. A well worked corner routine found Scott McManus but the centre halve’s header was parried away by Ross Durrant.
Durrant was called into action again several minutes later, this time the Blues’ number one rushed off his line to force Joe Doyle-Charles wide after an incisive pass from Tim Berridge played the midfielder through on goal.
Kieran Cook was the next player to be denied by Durrant, the forward accelerated down the left and took aim but Durrant pushed the shot wide with a diving save.
As the opening half came to a close, The Blues managed to push upfield and create a chance of their own. Ryan Campbell-Gordon won the ball back on the halfway line and passed it the around midfield before space opened for Casey Johnson to strike the ball from distance.
The long-range attempt from the young midfielder was struck with some venom and deflected wide for a corner kick. However, United could not make use of the short corner and Callum Cock’s cross into the area was claimed by Paul White in the hosts penalty box.
Wingback Eliot Putman had a chance at the near post late in the first half yet Durrant was equal to the challenge once again.
The Blues carried their momentum into the second half and almost found an early opener. Joe Nyahwema weaved past his marker and played the ball across the face of the Coalville goal, just beyond the run of Andy Kanga.
But less than seven minutes after Pennant made his appearance from the bench, the tricky winger rifled the ball into the top corner to give Coalville the lead with ten minutes left of regular time.
United did not let their heads drop after conceding and pressed on in search of an equaliser. Experienced forward Tyson was introduced from The Blues bench and almost made an immediate impact.
A long ball forward from Riece Bertram found the run of Tyson who flicked the ball over Coalville goalkeeper Paul White but could not convert in an aerial duel with the Coalville defence.
With time almost up The Blues had one last chance from a throw-in, Campbell-Gordon lofted the ball into the area and it fell to the feet of Tyson who knocked it past White at the near post to score a late leveller.
