We travel to Top Field on Saturday to face Hitchin Town in the Pitching In Southern League Premier Central Division.

The Blues advanced to the semi-finals of the Cawarden Derbyshire Senior Challenge Cup in our last outing, reaching the final four of the competition for the first time in 37-years.

Against Gresley Rovers, Jack Rogers assisted both Prestyn Moore's first senior goal and Matlock Town loanee Andrew Wright's first goal for the club in regular time but the match finished level at 2-2.

Wright, Rogers, Aaron Cole and James Spruce scored in the penalty shootout before George Atwal coolly converted the winning spot kick in a 5-4 win for United from 12-yards.

The Opposition

Hitchin Town lost 6-0 to National League South side St Albans City in the Herts Senior Cup on Tuesday - The Canaries fifth match without a win from their last six.

Their current run of form has seen Hitchin slip from fourth place down to eighth. Although during this run of matches their top goalscorer Finley Wilkinson has scored twice in his last two league appearances, which took the 21-year-old midfielder's tally to 11 for the season.

20-year-old forward Arnold Matshazi and 30-year-old defender Layne Eadie have also showcased their eye for goal in the last six games scoring braces against St Ives Town and Mickleover respectively.

When the two sides met earlier in the season Hitchin won 1-2 at Grange Park with Eadie and Wilkinson finding the back of the net on that afternoon. Tricky winger Diogo Freitas-Gouveia was a particular standout for the visitors in our previous meeting but the former Colchester United prospect has not featured since September.
