Match Preview – Berkhamsted FC (H)

Long Eaton United play host to Hertfordshire-based Berkhamsted at Grange Park in the league this Saturday.

In United’s previous match, they were on the wrong end of a disappointing 5-0 league defeat away in Cambridgeshire to St Ives Town.

Jonny Edwards, Brandon Njoku and Jordan Williams gave the Ives a deserved lead at half-time through three near and composed finished.

Then, Edwards secured his brace with a great finish in the second half, before Khris Oti netted a goal of his own late on to put the game beyond reach of the Blues.

The Opposition –

Berkhamsted currently sit in 21st of the Pitching In Southern Football League Premier Central – one place above the Blues having played one more game, but six points clear due to their seven draws in comparison to the Blues’ single draw.

The Comrades fell to a 2-0 home defeat at the hands of St Ives Town too in their last match, having not competed in a fixture since November 25th.

It was of course played at the Glencar Community Stadium infront of 268 supporters, and it was a Jonny Edwards second half brace that saw Berkhamsted fall to disappointing defeat.

Thus, with both sides losing to St Ives Town in their previous fixtures, there will no doubt be some determination in the dressing rooms for either side to go out and get only their second win of the season.

Previous Meeting’s –

The last time that the Blues and the Comrades met was in the reverse league fixture at the home of Berkhamsted back in September.

Having not recorded a victory at that point in the season, the Blues caused a small upset as a Micah Jebbison goal meant United walked away as 1-0 victors on the road.

The two sides had never met in a league or cup fixture prior to that match, thus, United will be looking to making it two in two against Berkhamsted, whilst the visitors will of course be looking to get a win of their own.

Card payments are preferred and accepted at Grange Park, although cash payments are still accepted.

Car Parking is available at the ground and is free, although it is subject to availability – ample parking is available in the surrounding area.
