Ben Hunter and Adam Mills netted early in the first half to give Sudbury an advantage, before Tom Hewlett scored in first-half stoppage time to half the visitor's advantage.
However, an early second half red card for Casey Johnson saw Malachi Napa net two to secure his brace, Hunter also netted his second of the afternoon and Romario Dunne made it six for Sudbury away from home.
The management duo were forced into two changes after last weekend’s defeat to AFC Telford United – Jamie Hanson and Nathan Tyson both missed out through injury, so in their place began Johnson and Joe Nyahwema.
Despite an attacking start to the match from Lewis McGugan and Brad Munn’s Blues, it was the Yellows that netted first through Hunter with a strike from the edge of the box after just 14 minutes.
Sudbury then doubled their advantage just 10 minutes later, after a composed square ball allowed Mills to tap the ball past Ross Durrant and into the back of the net from close.
Joe Neal had an opportunity for the Yellows midway through the first half when he latched onto an over the top through ball and struck a half-volley towards goal from the edge of the box, although it did not trouble Durrant.
Long Eaton got their biggest chance of the first half through James Spruce – the winger countered with pace before cutting inside and curling a strike towards the far post, but a back tracking Olumide Oluwatimilehin blocked the strike with a firm header.
United did however claw a goal back in first half stoppage time – Burton Albion loanee Tom Hewlett reacted quickest to divert Nyahwema’s saved effort with a rebound strike from just inside the box.
Cieron Keane made the Yellows shot-stopper work at the start of the second half, as the midfielders cross-shot had to be tipped over the bar by the fingertips of James Bradbrook.
Moments later, Johnson received his marching orders for the Blues due to a late challenge on Napa – a challenge that soon ignited the midfielder’s determination, as Napa netted a superbly whipped strike from the edge of the United box moments later.
That second half red card changed the game for the Blues and allowed the visitors to simply put the game beyond reach.
Hunter secured his brace for Sudbury in the 70th minute with a powerful strike from just inside the Blues box down the left.
Napa then secured a brace of his own with a neat and composed finish in the 81st minute to make it five in the afternoon.
Although, that was not quite it, as Yellows’ substitute Romario Dunne poked home a low driven cross to secure a comfortable victory for the Suffolk-based outfit at Grange Park.
