RUDY FUNK APPOINTED NEW MANAGER OF LONG EATON UNITED

Long Eaton United are delighted to announce the appointment of Rudy Funk as their new First team manager with immediate effect.

Rudy, who has enjoyed an illustrious managerial career to date with highly successful spells at Rainworth MW Scarborough Athletic and more recently AFC Mansfield who he guided to the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League, takes the reins at an exciting time for the Club.

The Blues Managing Director Nick Dargan said “we are delighted Rudy has agreed to join us. Anyone who knows or has met him cannot fail to be impressed by his knowledge of non league football, his enthusiasm for the game and his proven track record”

Nick added, Dutch and Andy Todd have done an excellent job in the second half of the season. It has become obvious though that the Club needs Dutch to continue his work developing our highly talented young CFC and Academy sides whilst Toddy will be offered a role in the new set up. That need coupled with the availability of Rudy and his proposed management support team is too good an opportunity for the Club to miss”

Rudy commented “I have been offered a number of great opportunities over the last few weeks but having met Chairman Jim Fairley and the Long Eaton United Board and discussed their vision for the club and seen first hand the impressive plans for the development of the facilities here, I was delighted to accept the offer of first team manager and can’t wait to get started”

He added “We have already spoken to Dutch and Andy Todd and started to assemble our managerial support team as well as having discussions with both existing and new players for next season. I am also hoping to be able to announce next week the exciting addition of a highly acclaimed former manager who will be working alongside me and the coaching staff as we look to put together a group to bring success to the Club and its Supporters”
